After UK Prime Minister David Cameron introduced 3D technology to the new UK national curriculum, all secondary students in a design and technology program will learn how to design and create 3D products. This curriculum which has combined “the best of the old and the best of the new” will cover robotics, cutting edge technology and advanced design equipment such as 3D printers. As they start learning from an earlier age, UK students will be trained to lead the country to become a world leader in technology.

In 2012-2013, the Department of Education (DfE) in UK funded a small 3D printer project to explore the potential use of 3D technology to diversify teaching styles across STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) and design subjects. In particular, schools were asked to explore various ways to implement the technology into the teaching and delivery of more complex scientific and mathematical ideas.
Other than USA and UK, Japan, Australia, Germany have also introduced 3D printing into school teaching.
At Well Link, we focus on introducing 3D printing technology to local and international schools. We provide training courses and workshops to students where they learn about 3D drawing and modelling techniques as well as 3D printing skills. Besides inspiring creativity, children who practice these skills can also establish an early concept of scaling, spacing and structuring, strengthen visual senses, and reinforce sensitivity to color. We are always happy to see students succeed in developing their STEREOSCOPIC THINKING.
During the summer of 2014, Well Link organized a series of 3D drawing & printing workshops, training courses and extracurricular activities with local schools and private institutions. Apart from individual tasks, each school assigned a specific project for their students to work on. Students exhibited tremendous growth in learning efficiency as they became more aesthetic and creative.

  • WORKSHOP

    During our workshops, Well Link professionals introduce participants to 3D printing technology and demonstrate the processes of 3D drawing & printing. The goal of the workshop is to raise students’ interest in 3D printing through different activities and interactive tasks.
